Start Here

Stories that start in the salon chair... but belong to all of us.

People think I write about hair.

I don't.

I write about people.

Every day, someone sits in my chair and says something that makes me laugh, makes me think, or reminds me that we're all carrying more than anyone can see.

Sometimes it's a funny story about grocery lists.

Sometimes it's a conversation about growing older.

Sometimes it's a reminder that people don't always need advice—they just need to feel heard.

Those are the stories you'll find here.

I've spent years behind the chair at Trikology Salon, and one thing I've learned is that hair is rarely the whole appointment.

Women come in for a haircut.

They leave having shared pieces of their lives.

Dear Bawsey is where I collect those moments.

Not to tell anyone else's story...

But to uncover the little truths that belong to all of us.

So pull up a chair.

Pour yourself a cup of coffee.

Stay awhile.

You might laugh.

You might cry.

But my hope is that somewhere along the way you'll think,

"I thought I was the only one."

Love,

Bawsey
