Dear Bawsey: Real Talk on Life, Love & Fitness

Lifestyle, Salon Life, Gym Life, Love, Real Talk

Welcome to Dear Bawsey

If you came here for soft, sugar‑coated inspiration, sis, you might be lost. But if you’re here for real talk, sharp fades, sore glutes, and love stories with a little smoke on them—pull up a chair. You’re exactly where you need to be.

I’m Erica Knowles—your favorite loud, loving, line‑up‑obsessed, weight‑rack re‑racker, and the unapologetic attitude behind Dear Bawsey. I’ve been in this hair game for over 15 years, and I own Trikology Salon in Clinton, North Carolina. I cut hair, I lift heavy, I love hard, and I talk even harder. Around here, we don’t whisper our truth—we say it with our chest and a fresh edge‑up.

Who I Am & The World I Run

My world is a mix of clippers, curls, chalk, and chaos. One minute I’m in Trikology Salon turning somebody’s “just a trim” into a whole personality upgrade, the next I’m in the gym arguing with myself about why I thought leg day twice a week was a good idea. I live in that space where the music’s a little too loud, the schedule’s a little too full, and the love is always a little too big—but it’s real, and it’s mine.

My Philosophy: When You Look Good, You Feel Good

I believe hair is a powerful expression of identity and confidence. When you look good, you feel good—and when you feel good, you move different. Every appointment, I pour my whole heart into making sure my clients leave beautiful, seen, and empowered, not just “done.”

  • Precision Haircuts that match your face, your vibe, and your real life.
  • Vibrant Color Treatments for when you’re tired of blending in.
  • Luxurious Hair Treatments that feel like therapy with better results.
  • Expert Styling so your hair hits from every angle, not just the front camera.

Salon Life: More Than Just Hair

In my chair, hair is the excuse—healing is the appointment. We’re talking botched cuts, bold chops, big color, and bigger feelings. I’ll share the stories, the lessons, the petty, and the powerful moments that happen when a woman decides she’s done playing small and ready to cut off more than split ends. If you’ve ever cried in the salon bathroom then walked out like a new woman, you already know the vibe.

Gym Life: Squats, Sweat & Self‑Respect

Over here, the gym is therapy with better lighting. We’ll talk about showing up when you’re tired, lifting when your feelings are heavy, and not shrinking yourself to make anybody comfortable—on or off the bench. No “summer body” nonsense, just strength, discipline, and a little delusion that you can always add one more plate. Spoiler: you usually can.

Love, the Beard & Everything In Between

On TikTok, I’m @bawseyandthebeard. Bawsey is me, and the Beard is my partner—so this blog is just as much a love story as it is a salon and lifestyle story. We’re talking the kind of love that looks cute on Instagram and the kind that has you side‑eyeing your phone like, “I know you lying.”

Romantic love, self‑love, family drama, friend breakups, making up, and knowing when to walk away with your head high and your edges intact—I’ll give you the Dear Bawsey version of advice: honest, a little loud, and always from the heart, even when it stings a bit.

What You Can Expect From Dear Bawsey

This blog is my open letter to every woman juggling haircuts, chaos, gym life, love, and lifestyle with that unapologetic Bawsey Attitude. Expect unfiltered stories from behind the chair and under the barbell—no PR team, no fake‑deep captions, just the truth with a side of attitude and a wink of love.

In between the hair, the hustle, and the heavy weights, we’ll talk business, boundaries, bad days, bounce‑backs, and becoming the woman you keep saying you want to be. No pretending, no perfect—just progress and Bawsey energy.

“You’re not asking for too much—you’re just finally asking for what you deserve.”

— Dear Bawsey

So, welcome to Dear Bawsey. Fix your crown, loosen that ponytail, roll your shoulders back, and get comfortable. I’m Erica, and I’m about to talk to you like I do my clients: with love, with honesty, and with zero time for pretending you’re not that girl. Let’s get into it.
